Interesting. I am assuming there is a 209 nipple at the sleeping accommodation end, seems it might be a pain to place the primer, particularly if gloved.

I had researched them at 1 fourth dimension and one thing that turned me off of them was people complained about how dirty it fabricated their gun.

That will always be that trouble with black powder, or information technology's equivalent.

Ive shot them in the past, they are ok I only dont similar the way they feel. You can of course use the non corrosive black pulverization, like the shockeys gold. That stuff seems to work pretty well and it doesnt lack in speed or power.

I think you should go one every bit it makes your shotgun a little more versatile. Yes they are muddy shooters and crave cleaning after each days shoot but that is not a problem is it? The 209's would crave removing a glove or using a capper (if they brand them for 209 primers) merely for the price of the barrel you get an extra gun.

Actually having dissimilar barrels for your shot gun is pretty common....for dissimilar reasons, but I gotta say a in-line One thousand-L butt for simply over a $100 bucks is a pretty good deal.

Not but that yous still have the feel of your shotgun.

I have ii of them purchased at least 10 years ago for my father and I, My dad did use his for a couple of years. and I just played with mine. I thought it shot OK for an open sight gun. Never had a problem with it. Dad did state that with gloved hands information technology was not easy to place the 209 in the port, and on mine the ramrod would rattle a bit. I purchased a pair of H&R Huntsman break open 50'due south and nosotros have used them ever since.

The H&R Huntsman is a pretty good shooting rifle.
I added a .50 cal Huntsman butt for my Handi rifle.....It is easier to handle the 209 primer as it's in a plastic holder.

I concur I like the (new) huntsmans I take two of them, I also have 2 of the .45cal huntsmans from the 1970's. I dont think H&R got the credit deserved for having the kickoff modern in line muzzleloaders. So often yous meet Knight or others calim this and they came out in the 1980's

Can't say that I take seen a .45 cal,....that would exist an intresting discover.

They didn't push button the inlines much at least around hither, didn't see whatever on the racks by themselves....non like Knight and CVA.

I know they used to sell combos BP and shot gun back in about 2003-04, just when I found out about the butt program I just ordered a barrel.

50 Cal 26" F50M $145.00

These were no listed on the web site for a few years.......seem that the ownership of H&R/NEF has inverse seveeral times......
Now orders are filled past Remington.

I got my first H&R huntsman used in the early on 80's and my granddaddy my male parent had one in .45 also from at to the lowest degree 10 years before that. they had been converted to use a 209 from a kit merely dont remember who made the kit. I think all the early guns were all .45's some had a prince of whales pistol grip stock others with a straight grip. I will have to get some photos of the older ones side by side to the new models and mail them.

Dad used a 500 ML barrel for years. He only stopped when he upgraded to one of the Vicious smokeless MLs. It always shot skillful for an open sight gun. We used 375 gr maxi-assurance over 90gr of pyrodex RS. Information technology was always super easy to clean. Remove barrel and identify in hot water. For the toll information technology is an awesome improver.

I have used i, its pretty spiffy, but not an inline magnum. Shoots accurate enough at 100 yds.
I now use a CVA MAGNUM, I can hit at 200 yds with. Never have needed the extra range, but may if i got an out of country hunt or something
